This guided tour from Auckland will give you the chance to experience real-life Middle Earth with a visit to Hobbiton™, featured in both 'The Lord of the Rings' and 'The Hobbit' trilogies.
After leaving Auckland, you'll travel through the scenic countryside of the Waikato region until you reach The Shire's Rest™, where your tour will begin. You'll get to visit Bag End, Green Dragon Inn, the Party Tree and numerous 'hobbit holes', all while listening to stories from the film's set. You'll then drive to the Waitomo Glowworm Caves for a different kind of experience – a boat ride through a cavern lit up by thousands of tiny, luminescent glowworms.

A minimum number of participants is required for the tour to go ahead. If the minimum is not met, you will be provided with an alternative date, an alternative tour option or a refund.
Please wear comfortable clothing suitable for the weather conditions and closed-toe footwear with a good grip. Please also bring sun cream, sunglasses or a sun hat, a light rain jacket and a camera.
The minimum age for consuming alcohol is 18 years. A valid photo ID is required to consume alcohol.
Please note that photography is not permitted inside the Waitomo Glowworm Caves.
GoPro and other cameras are not permitted on the tour.
